Alyssa Hedstrom, DDS

Alyssa Hedstrom, DDS — Dentist

Alyssa grew up in Grand Marais, graduating from Cook County High School.  After receiving her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2004, Alyssa her husband and daughter returned home to raise their family.  She joined her father, Dr. Rolf, practicing dentistry and took over the practice in May of 2008. Alyssa now has three daughters, and a Bernese mountain dog. The family loves sailing, swimming, traveling and adventures of all sorts. Alyssa enjoys giving back to the community and has served on the Co-op and the North Shore Health Care Foundation boards.  She was instrumental in the creation of the Oral Health Task Force and continues to support their efforts as a board member and with her contributions of services.  Professionally Alyssa is a Member of the ADA, MDA, NEEDS and AOS.  One thing Alyssa enjoys about dentistry is the ability to continue to learn and grow as dentistry changes.  Continuing education is an important part of professional development and Alyssa stays connected to dentistry through her love of learning.  Alyssa loves working and living in Cook County and every day is thankful for the opportunity to practice a profession she loves for a community she is proud to be a member.
Pat Pawlowski

Pat Pawlowski — DDS

Dr. Pat Pawlowski grew up in the Chicagoland area and attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI to participate in their pre-dental program.  He then went on to complete dental school at Marquette University School of Dentistry, where he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honors Society.  Dr. Pat is proud to be a fourth generation dentist, but broke with tradition by leaving Chicago after having spent most of his free time during school working in Minnesota’s beautiful lakes country.  He is excited to be closer to the wonderful outdoor opportunities on the North Shore along with being closer to his twin brother in Duluth. He enjoys serving the community by helping people achieve their oral health goals.

Layne Lindquist

Layne Lindquist — Registered Dental Hygienist, Restorative Function

Layne received her Dental Hygiene Degree from Lake Superior College in Duluth in 2001. She was then in one of the first graduating classes in a Restorative Function program from the University of Minnesota in 2002. Over the past 25 years Layne has, at various points, been involved in every aspect of the office. Layne loves taking yoga and she and Rolf take long walks almost daily. She also enjoys knitting, sewing, sailing and spending time with her grandchildren.
Kristy Ekroot

Kristy Ekroot — Licensed Dental Assistant

Kristy graduated from Hibbing Community College with a degree in Dental Assisting. Kristy has been working at the office for the past 25 years. Kristy and her husband Craig, have a son and two grand-children.  When not at work, Kristy spends her time travelling to Canada or their cabin, she enjoys camping, snowmobiling, trips to Duluth with her sister or daughter-in-law, and time with her grandsons.
Cathy Terry

Cathy Terry — Licensed Dental Assistant

Cathy graduated from Hibbing Community College with a degree in Dental Assisting. A native of International Falls, Cathy joined the office in August of 1997. Cathy and her husband, Dennis, have two adult children. Her greatest joy was becoming a grandma to a beautiful baby boy. Cathy is very active in water fitness and Zumba, she grows tons of gorgeous tomatoes, flowers and vegetables every summer. Cathy enjoys visits with her father at the Care Center, and spending time with her husband and their cat Bailey.
Karina Roth

Karina Roth — Reception

Karina received her Bachelor's degree in both math and music from Simpson College and has worked in the reception area of the office since 2010. Karina and her husband Mike have 3 children and she spent the prior 10 years being the house manager for all of them. Karina is a gifted musician and sings in a jazz quartet as well as being the primary musician at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She coordinates the lunch program at Great Expectations School and grows all the beautiful flowers and veggies for the GES plant sale every May. Karina also has a gift with animals and their entire family is working hard to rehabilitate Ruby their rescued mixed breed dog.
